Home gardeners in Ontario often mistake their lavender plants to be dead after a harsh winter. Try to be patient and wait for your lavender to "green up". Lavender goes dormant and takes time to "wake up" after winter.

A good way to check if your plant is alive is by snapping a lavender stem on your plant. Dormant plants are flexible and don't break. You can also cut a stem or peel back the "bark" to check the inside - if it is green, your plant is alive!

Try making Savory Lavender-Herb Seasoned Popcorn with Ontario-grown culinary lavender!! 🍿💜

Lavender-Herb Popcorn Seasoning
2½ tablespoons chopped dried chives
1 tablespoon dried culinary lavender buds
1 tablespoon dried thyme leaves
¾ to 1 teaspoon of commercial lemon-pepper seasoning, to taste
½ teaspoon garlic salt
Blend all ingredients in a food processor, sprinkle a teaspoon or two on your popcorn, and enjoy!
